So while I was cruising around on the internet looking for ideas, I ran across some bracelets by Chan Luu. They are beautiful but way out of my price range. Several people have posted articles on how to make them so I kinda pulled from those and altered a couple of things to make it easier for me to make. Enjoy...Part 1
Part 2
How many beads do you actually need to make the bracelet wrap 2 - 3 times around?
ReplyDeleteI used beads that were about 4 millimeters across (a little less than 3/8 inch) and my wrist is right at 7 inches around. So for my wrist size and bead size it took about 43 beads per wrap. I counted 127 for the one that wrapped 3 times around. So this might be a good number and include a few extra for most people since I think my wrist is a little larger than most women and is probably normal for most men. I would suggest a little calculation to get a more exact number. Convert your wrist size in inches to millimeters by multiplying it by 25.4 (1 inch=25.4 mm). Multiple that number by how many times you want the bracelet to wrap around. Then divide that number by the diameter of your beads. That will probably give you a few more beads than you really need because you have to leave a tiny space between the beads so the bracelet lays right and you will also have the button and knotted loop closure.
ReplyDeleteExcellent training. You should tech at a college or community center! Do you have an email address? What is your employment?
ReplyDeleteHey there. I think I might try doing that this coming summer. I actually work in a quasi-governmental position in the environmental field. It's a weird setup. But it's a great mix of working in the office and "playing" in the field (river and lakes).
ReplyDeleteIs the best tutorial on Internet.Very clear. The result is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
